Thunder manager Chris Taylor said Thompson agreed terms with the Thunder on Monday night, just in time to play the first half of its friendly clash with Singapore’s under-18 side making some impressive passes and linking well with his new teammates.

Thompson was reportedly joining reigning champions Green Gully but the skillful midfielder appears to have found his way to the Thunder.

‘‘He is a major signing, a quality player,’’ Taylor said following the Singapore game.

Thompson played for Hume City last season.

He showed his new teammates a taste of his skills with some telling through-balls against Singapore while also curving a free-kick towards the goals only for it to be saved.

The Thunder have also signed former Canadian college soccer star Nathaniel Foster and the speedy left-footer is already making his mark scoring a hat-trick against Singapore and in the Thunder’s previous clash against North Sunshine.

Foster looks likely to become a fan-favourite with his blond mohawk and powerful runs.

He is already linking well with Thompson and attacking midfielder Luke Sherbon.
