COOMOORA'S Liam Coates cross-bats a delivery during the DDCA Twenty20 grand final last Wednesday against Berwick.
The Turf 2 club fought valiantly against the Bears, who won the toss and made 7-196. Their total proved too much for the Roos, who made 4-152 with Coates top scorer on 42.
Roos president Steve Johnston said the club was very proud of its players for making the final. "Berwick started like a house on fire and we couldn't take early wickets," he said.
"We dropped a few catches early but full credit to our boys, they faced one of the measuring sticks in the competition. We are very, very proud of them."
