THE husband of a woman who went missing last month has been charged with her murder.
Zahara Rahimzadegan, also known as Mandy Ahmadi, went missing from her Ashwood home.
She was president of the Dandenong-based Women's Better World Incorporated, which used hair and beauty programs to help Afghan women integrate into Australian culture.
Police executed a search warrant at her home on Friday. On Friday night Nasir Ahmadi, 46, faced an out-of-sessions hearing charged with one count of murder.
Detective Senior Sergeant Ron Iddles told the court police alleged Nasir Ahmadi killed his 46-year-old wife at their home on December 16 and reported her missing at Glen Waverley police station two days later.
Senior Sergeant Iddles said a body believed to be Mandy Ahmadi's was found under a slab of concrete in their backyard.
Ahmadi was remanded in custody and was to face the Melbourne Magistrates Court today.
